Why should you use an adviser for your mortgage?



A mortgage broker is working for you, they aren’t tied to any specific lender so can look across the whole market.


In 2014, there was a mortgage market review carried out by the government where the changes bought in meant it didn’t matter whether you went directly to your bank, or used a broker, the exact same checks are carried out.


Whomever you use has to demonstrate they have a thorough understanding of your circumstances in order to be able to recommend the most appropriate mortgage for you - based on what you can afford, and the lenders specific criteria.


You might be able to walk straight into your bank to get a mortgage offer, but wouldn’t you rather check the market to make sure it was the right deal for you?


We are able to select from a wide choice of lenders, knowing the quirks and tricks that each lender might have. After all, we are doing this day in and day out. It is our job to know the criteria, for example which lender accepts different income types or property styles.


We also have access to rates you won’t see advertised as lenders offer broker exclusives which you won’t have access to. Are you not curious to see what you could get?
