Here are 5 budget friendly tips for you...

If in previous years, you’ve felt that Christmas gift giving has got out of hand then maybe this is the year to cut down. Besides, many of us have seen our incomes change this year...

Here are 5 budget friendly tips for you...

1. Write a list of everyone you need to buy for, and keep it on you. From now on, if you see something on offer you can get it and stash away – spreads the cost rather than one big shopping day in December. Suggest doing a Secret Santa with loved ones too.

2. Shop around. Check to see if you can find your gifts cheaper elsewhere.

3. If buying online, don’t forget to check for cashback! Once you’ve found the cheapest price then head to Quidco or TopCashback to see if that store is also paying cashback. If you haven’t signed up yet, why not? Before you sign up post a status asking if any friends have referral codes – you’ll each get a bonus if you sign up with a code.

4. Check outlet stores for those that like specific brands.

5. The supermarkets are going to be throwing offers at you. Everything from the tubs of chocolate to bulk buy wine. Think about how many days, and people, you’ll be catering for and don’t allow yourself to go overboard on treats. Quite often the so-called budget brands often come out better.
